Clifford Lee Burton(February 10, 1962 Castro Valley, California - September 27, 1986 Ljungby, Sweden) was the bassist for the thrash metal band Metallica. He was known for his specific concept of the bass guitar as a solo instrument. To this day, he is considered the best bassist in the band, and one of the best bassists of all time.
His first appearance with Metallica was on March 3, 1983. During his time in the band, he recorded only three albums(Kill 'Em All, Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets), but they are among the most important in the history of metal. The album Master of Puppets is considered Metallica's best album.
