This symbol of flower children (called Hippies) celebrating peace and love is deeply rooted mostly in the 60s and 70s when the flower movement was founded. Because of the ongoing war in Vietnam, several million mostly young people decided to join the movement to show their opposition and protest against the war in Vietnam to top politicians. We also come with this motive at a time when there are still wars going on in the world that only lead to the suffering of normal people.
